On May 1 Polish, Czech and Lithuanian citizens will be able to take up employment in Germany without restriction. Some Germans fear for the future of their jobs. But some businesspeople are hoping to fill vacant posts with skilled workers from the new EU member states.Many Poles and Czechs already work in certain sectors, such as care for the elderly.
